From October 1 2013 to September 30 2014, the U.S. Citizen Services Unit at the Embassy in London registered over 3800 babies and children as U.S. Citizens born abroad. Ambassador Barzun even welcomed some of our newest citizens personally! You can see our video of the event here – http://youtu.be/JN0yq8GOoiU
If you are a U.S. citizen and your child is born outside the United States, your child may still have a claim to citizenship through you. Information about who is eligible to transmit citizenship is available from the Embassy website here.
If you believe that you are eligible to transmit citizenship to your child, information about registering your child’s birth and applying for their first U.S. passport is available from our website here.
