“Will the technical issues affect me?” FAQs for visa and passport applicants

We have begun printing nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.  We are working as quickly as possible to clear the backlog of pending visa cases and hand your passport to the courier company for delivery.

During this time, we cannot provide status updates by email or phone.

NONIMMIGRANT VISAS

I have booked an nonimmigrant visa appointment – should I attend?

Yes.  If your appointment is scheduled for June 26 or beyond, you should attend the interview.  However, please be aware that if your application is approved at the interview, visa processing may take longer than the advertised 5-7 working days.  You will be advised further at the interview.

I haven’t booked my nonimmigrant visa appointment yet/need to reschedule – when will I be able to do that?

You may schedule an appointment, if one is available.  You should note, however that if your application is approved at the interview, the visa may take longer than the advertised 5 – 7 working days.
