President Obama Delivers a Statement on the Tragic Shooting in Orlando

“Today, as Americans, we grieve the brutal murder — a horrific massacre — of dozens of innocent people. We pray for their families, who are grasping for answers with broken hearts. We stand with the people of Orlando, who have endured a terrible attack on their city. Although it’s still early in the investigation, we know enough to say that this was an act of terror and an act of hate. And as Americans, we are united in grief, in outrage, and in resolve to defend our people.

This is an especially heartbreaking day for all our friends — our fellow Americans — who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. The shooter targeted a nightclub where people came together to be with friends, to dance and to sing, and to live. The place where they were attacked is more than a nightclub — it is a place of solidarity and empowerment where people have come together to raise awareness, to speak their minds, and to advocate for their civil rights.”

  1. After hearing about the devastating inhumane terrorist attack in Orlando I would like to express my most deep condolences to the friends and families of those who, unfortunately, were killed by the atrocious attack.

  2. Yet another tragedy in beloved America, this time with more grieving families than ever before. When are we going to ban such powerful weapons? Killings will happen without guns as demonstrated in today’s tragedy in Britain where a capable young mother and a serving MP has been knifed to death for her political views, but guns kill far more people than knives. President Obama is correct that it is hate that causes these tragedies, but we could at least take out the delivery system!

  3. I would like to add my sincere condolences to all those affected by the tragedy in Orlando, and to commend the spirit of those who are showing grace and solidarity at this awful time.

  4. My sincere condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy whether friends or family. This has affected many people worldwide.

    Angels And Demons

Another demon has drawn his sword
In misgiuded defense of the islamic lord
Turning his wrath on the gay community
From this kind of madness there is no immunity

    Radical islam or islamic Jihad
Numerous lables all of them bad.
This was no true muslim you must understand
Just a delusional man with a gun in his hand

These inhumane monsters agenda is clear
To rule with brutality intimidation and fear
They are doomed to faliure with an end to thier mystery
    Another evil consigned into history

The people of britain share in your sorrow
For all of those souls who will not see tomorrow
Angels now guide them thier suffering has ended
The demon has perished for the cause he defended

We cry for and end to this mindless insanity
We cry for the future and prey for humanity
My message is simple . Mothers Fathers. Sisters and Brothers
For the sake of mankind just love one another

  10. I was deeply shocked when I heard about the terrorist attack in Orlando and I am still very upset. We are so lucky to live in democratic countries where we are free to live our lives the way we want. We must stand united against evil. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family during this time of sorrow. God bless you all. Love from a Parisian in London. xx
